Alamb was established in 1992 by a group of experienced professionals who had been working in the development field for a long time. The main aim of the organization is to help people (specific target group being women and children of socio – economically weaker sections of society) be aware of their rights to education, good health and self-respect.
Problem: Violation of child rights, woman and child abuse, unemployment and discriminatory wages are among the big issues of the area along with sanitation, housing and poverty in slums.
Oppurtunity: Alamb believes that all children must have access to education and opportunities to improve their economic and social status and general quality of life
Solution: Alamb will facilitate this through providing support to children through remedial education and through practical skills enhancement for gainful employment.
Vibha Involvement: Vibha funds Education, health, vocational training and computer education
Progress: High percentage of children continue higher education. Many of their alumni have competed graduation and are gainfully employed. A number of them are employed by Alamb under its various program activities.
