Objective

• Provide vocational training to the rural & urban disabled persons matching the job characteristic with their functional potentialities.
• To equip the learners with skills and knowledge for vocational training, work place behavior, work related skills, safety precautions, social behavior, and communication skills for integration within the community.
• Make provision of working opportunities so that they can earn their livelihood.
• To bridge the gap between production and marketing by directly marketing the articles.
• To develop an understanding about mental retardation and an attitude of sensitivity and empathy towards the mentally retarded.

Community Targeted

Mentally retarded and other disabled children form Ajmer city and nearby villages are being served by the project. A total of 50 disabled children are being trained and provided vocational training & job opportunities to become self-reliant and positive role models for the society.

Project Details

The project can be divided up into the following components:

Preparation of stationary items

1. Folding the paper
2. Punching the lined holes (perforation)
3. Straw board cutting
4. Placing straw board and covering paper
5. Stapling
6. Pasting of Marble paper on pinned area
7. Cutting the pad size (trimming)

Activity In Bandhage (Tie & Die)

1. Trainee selection (eligible criteria:-18 years old and 80% performance rate of VAPS).
2. Training for vocational instructors, vocational teacher, assistant, helper on bandhage by expert.
3. Collection and preparation of learning material related bandhage. Meeting with parents, guardians and community members.
4. Purchase of raw materials for bandhage.
5. Preparation to construct of the bandhage set up.
6. Parents training workshop on bandhage.
7. Training in basic skills in bandhage to trainee. (Part 1 + Part 2)
8. Marketing direct to local garments shop, khadi udyog, among parents.
9. Evaluation through supervising and maintaining a proper reporting format.
10. Exhibition cum sale in different fair (mela) and exhibition place.

Activity In Vermi Compost

1. Trainee selection (eligible criteria:- 18 years old and 80% performance rate of VAPS).
2. Training for vocational instructors, vocational teacher, assistant, helper on vermi culture by vermi compost expert.
3. Collection and preparation of learning material on vermi compost.
4. Meeting with rural farmers, krishi farm, and community members.
5. Purchase of raw materials for vermi compost.
6. Preparation to construct of the vermi compost pit and shed.
7. Parents training workshop on vermi compost.
8. Training in basic skills in vermi compost to trainee.
9. Marketing direct to local farmers and krishi farm.
